ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND PRESENTATION GUIDELINES (CIEFMH/SPEF 2015)

 

Abstracts submitted for the IX International Congress of Physical Education and Human Motricity and XV São Paulo Symposium of Physical Education (CIEFMH/SPEF) are welcomed for oral (oral presentation or special oral presentation) or poster presentations.

The thematic areas of abstract submission are:

  • Physiology and biochemistry of exercise; biodynamic of performance and sport training.

  • Health and rehabilitation.  

  • Motor behavior; modeling and motion analysis methods.

  • Physical education; professional training.

  • Sport; leisure; public policies management.

  • Psychology and movements; sociocultural approaches to the body.

  • Technology and human motricity.

Abstract must be submitted to the Scientific Committee in one of the following categories: oral presentation, special oral presentation and poster presentation.

 

ORAL ABSTRACT PRESENTER GUIDELINES

 

1. Oral Presentation:

 

1.1 Authors who are interested in submitting their abstract as an oral presentation should mar the appropriate checkbox during the submission process.

 

1.2 Oral presentations last a maximum of 15-minutes: 10-minutes presentation followed by a 5-minute discussion.

 

1.3 To apply for the oral presentation category, authors must submit their work in short abstract format, following the item 4 "Submission of short and expanded abstracts" guidelines.

 

 

2. Special Oral Presentation:

 

2.1 Authors who are interested in submitting their abstracts in the special Oral Presentation modality should mark the corresponding checkbox during the submission process.

 

2.2 For each area, abstracts will be selected by the Scientific Committee for the special oral presentation sessions.

 

2.3 For each special oral presentation session a committee of three experts will judge "in loco" the quality of the presentations.

 

2.4 The special oral presentation session last a maximum of 15-minutes: 10-minutes presentation followed by a 5-minute discussion.

 

2.5 Abstracts in each area of specialty are eligible to the “best study” award. Awards will be acknowledged during a formal ceremony and issued a certificate.

 

2.6 To apply for the special oral presentation category, authors must submit a short abstract of their study as well as an expanded abstract. Please follow item 4 "Submission of simple and expanded abstracts" guidelines and then download the format template.

 

2.7 All participants in the special oral presentation session will have their expanded abstracts published in a supplementary issue of the Motriz Journal.

 

 

POSTER PRESENTER GUIDELINES

 

3. Poster:

 

3.1 Author who are interested in submitting their abstracts in the poster session should mark the corresponding checkbox during the submission process.

 

3.2 To apply for the poster session, authors must submit a short abstract following item 4 "Submission of short and expanded abstracts" guidelines.

 

3.3 The poster (0.90m wide x 1.20m high) will be exhibited in the Poster Session area (location and time to be later informed). Presenters must be available at the site for the entire duration of the poster session presentation (to be determined by the organizers).

 

 

4. Submission of short and expanded abstracts

 

4.1 Short abstracts should be submitted in English and entered in a specific textbox, in plain text, with minimum 2000 and maximum of 3000 characters (single-spaced, font Times, size 12, left justified). At least one author must be pay the registration fee. Each author is limited to two abstracts. The title should be concise and objective with the content of the study, and entered in the corresponding textbox. Name of each author follows affiliation (use only one main affiliation). If appropriate, add agency/Institution that provided financial support. The abstract should include: a brief description of the problem investigated, rationale of the study, method used to collect data, results and discussion, implications or applications, and conclusions. References, figures or graphics ARE NOT ACCEPTED (blocked by the online system). The specific textbox to insert the abstract should be used only for the purpose for which it is intended. Other information should be entered in the corresponding textboxes. To follow the format, see template 1 (End of the page).

 

4.2 Expanded abstracts should be submitted in PDF format using the corresponding option in the system. The expanded abstract follows the APA rules (American Psychological Association) adopted by the Motriz Journal (http://www.periodicos.rc.biblioteca.unesp.br/ index.php/motriz). 5. General information

 

5.1 Studies for presentation (oral presentation, special oral presentation or poster) are required to be original (not previously published) in order to be accepted. Decision about the type of presentation format will, first, follow the author’ choice. However, the organizing committee reserves the right of changing format of presentation depending on the program availability.

 

5.2 Submitting author is responsible for typing the correct names of names of authors and co-authors. Submitted information about the study and identification will be printed in the certificate(s).

 

5.3 Submited abstracts will be evaluated by members of the Scientific Committee, using a double-blind review process.

 

5.4 Short and extended abstracts that do not meet the guidelines above described (item "Submission of short and expanded abstracts") will not be assessed.

 

IMPORTANT:

 

At least one author of the approved abstract must attend and present the study at the time and place designated by the Scientific Committee of the CIEFMH/SPEF. Failure to attend will result in exclusion (retraction) of the abstract(s) (short; or both expanded and short abstracts, in the case of special oral presentation) of the annals of the supplementary issue of Motriz Journal and no registration fee will be reimbursed.

 

6. Onsite:

 

6.1 To submit your documentation, please follow the steps:

 

a. First, fill out your registration form, available at the registration Webpage: www.rc.unesp.br/eventos/ib; choose "IX International Congress of Physical Education and Human Motricity and XV São Paulo Symposium of Physical Education", click the Registration tab and choose the Registration Form option.

 

b. Next, till out the abstract submission in the webpage: www.rc.unesp.br/eventos/ib, choose the event "IX International Congress of Physical Education and Human Motricity and XV São Paulo Symposium of Physical Education", click on the Scientific abstract tab and choose the Send option.

 

 

7. Important dates

 

7.1 Deadline for abstract submission: March 13, 2015. A confirmation of the successful completion and submission of the data will be sent immediately by the system to the electronic email address provided in the submission process.

 

7.2 The decision about the acceptance of the paper will be available by April 24, 2015. We recommended that author(s) retain(s) an original copy of the abstract.

 

7.3 Accepted abstracts will be published in the annals of the event (supplement of the Motriz Journal) upon payment. Payment is obligatorily for THE FIRST AUTHOR. Deadline of registration fee: April 30, 2015 (final date of registration with discount). Fee payment is required in any of the categories of presentation (oral presentation, special oral presentation and poster presentation).
